Decent soundbar for maser…

I have a Samsung Q990C soundbar in our living room and we love it. We wanted to get something for our master bedroom (which is fairly large vs most) but didn't need something quite as large or fancy. Had the opportunity to acquire the HW-B750D and after checking the size it would fit perfect.
I unboxed the unit and notice it does NOT come with an HDMI cable but oddly did come with an optical one which is less commonly used these days . Thankfully I had some decent HDMI cables laying around. They should probably include the cable anyone can use vs one only some can.
Anyway, got everything unboxed and the next thing I noticed was the power supply is external. Not a big deal and probably how it's able to be slightly smaller. Mine will be out of site but just wanted to share in case it matters.
Power on my TV, set it to proper settings. Next I fired up the Samsung SmartThings app and tried to add the soundbar and found I couldn't. Upon more research, turns out this does not have Wifi and thus can't be added or controlled by the app. I was a bit sad at this point as our other one could be and we loved that feature. I tried to pull the manual up online, link is bad on Samsung site.... I am able to use the quick start guide to get things setup enough and finally start using it.
Overall, the sound quality seems decent. Definitely not high end but it doesn't have the high end price so wasn't expected. I would say probably more low-mid. Not quite fully mid but not low either.
I did have a few instances where no sound came out and I had to power cycle the unit or cycle the inputs again. It's possible the TV is/was the cause but also possible the soundbar is. No easy way to test that without being able to duplicate and lots of swapping of things and haven't noticed it again. Maybe optical would work better hah
We watched our first movie with it and enjoyed the sound much more vs the built-in TV one. I do wish it was Dolby Digital Plus and not just standard as most content is plus and I had some trouble getting third party video players to play correctly since they needed to downscale to DD instead of DD+.
I will say I wish it had a tad more base. It advertises base boost but it is an audio mode, not a stand alone setting like other bars. This means if you want it in say adaptive or movie mode, you can't have base boost because that is a mode itself.
Overall I would give it a 3.5 if I could. I hope they offer firmware updates to improve a little more (via USB).
